On holiday at Haus Piesendorf, but who are we?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn 2008, we made a life-changing decision. We left everything behind in the Netherlands and started a new life in beautiful Austria with our two boys (then two and five years old). We chose Austria because of its attractiveness, with snow in winter and vibrant colors in summer. A country that offers many opportunities in all four seasons. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Marco is an entrepreneur through and through, and Susan loves working with people. The choice was therefore very easy for us: tourism.<\/p>

Marco was a fruit farmer in West Friesland and Susan worked as a dialysis nurse in the hospital in Hoorn. Our departure at that time wasn't motivated by dissatisfaction with the Netherlands or with our jobs. We were simply looking for a new challenge in a beautiful country. My new life\u2026.<\/p>

We've built a wonderful company here in Salzburg, one we're very proud of. Over the past few years, we've experienced, learned, and tried many things. We could write a book about it, but we'll keep it brief.<\/p>

In 2008, we bought Haus Piesendorf and started with five apartments. Four years later, our house was thoroughly renovated and expanded to include nine comfortable holiday apartments. But that wasn't enough, and before boredom set in, we decided to try something new. In 2014, we bought a hotel in the center of Kaprun. We revived a poorly managed hotel and welcomed many enthusiastic guests. However, hotel life didn't suit us at all, so we said goodbye after five years.<\/p>

We continued with full energy in Piesendorf. The small-scale operation and the cozy atmosphere ensure that our guests quickly feel at home here. We love that. We have since built five more beautiful vacation apartments in the lovely village of Piesendorf, near Zell am See and Kaprun. Our offerings range from a double apartment to group accommodations for fourteen to fifty people. There's something for everyone. In recent years, we've carefully considered the needs of our guests and responded accordingly. At Haus Piesendorf, for example, we built a new playground for all ages.<\/p>

We still love our life here in the Alps and have never been homesick. Our youngest son was born in Austria. Our boys (now 22, 19, and 14 years old) have become true Austrians. They speak the local dialect fluently.<\/p>

Since December 2025, our middle son has been the owner of the\u00a0Chalet am Park<\/em>. We will assist him with the rental.<\/p>
