Summer fun for kids in the Salzburg Pinzgau region

If your children enjoy their holiday, your holiday will be a success too. Our house is ideal for families with children of all ages. Our garden is equipped with various play features for children, including a playhouse with a climbing wall and slide, a professional trampoline with no fewer than four jumping areas and safety nets, and a nest swing. For sports enthusiasts, there is a ping-pong table, a football pitch, badminton, volleyball, and basketball. For spectators, there is a comfortable picnic table and several sun loungers.

Zell am See-Kaprun is unfortunately less well-known as a summer holiday destination. Did you know that families with children can experience a fantastic summer holiday here? The fairytale location of the two villages on Lake Zell, surrounded by majestic mountain peaks, makes the destination a holiday and play paradise, especially for active families seeking adventure and action. What does the area around Zell am See offer?

Extensive entertainment program for children
From May to October, there are lots of great activities for children aged 5-16. They certainly won't be bored here. A wide variety of activities are offered.

Family walk with llamas
A llama walk in Kaprun, accompanied by a true llama expert. Children can supervise and care for their own llama. The llamas carry the luggage; children cannot ride them.
A delightful walk through the Kaprun countryside, and the children have only one task: the llamas are not allowed to eat along the way. We'll take a break during the walk, and the children can search for gold. The walk costs approximately €55 for the whole family.

Trout fishing in Rauris
A great activity for the whole family. You can watch the trout swimming and rent a fishing rod with bait (€5). Try to catch as many trout as possible, then buy and take them home. You'll pay approximately €14 per kilo. The tripe will be removed immediately, and you can prepare the fish at home.
You can also have your freshly caught fish prepared at the on-site restaurant. There are guides at the fishing pond who will explain everything and assist you. Even if you're not familiar with fishing, it's really nice to give it a try.
There's a lovely playground for the children and a real petting zoo with llamas, horses, and rabbits. A wonderful day out for the whole family.

Rafting for the whole family
A real rafting tour on the Salzach River for true adventurers. For children aged 8 and up, with a swimming badge. An introductory tour of approximately 3 hours, including equipment and a certificate, for €29 per person.

Rodenln - 100% Fun guaranteed for the whole family
When you think of a family vacation, you have to mention tobogganing, and it's not just the kids who love it. Naturally, tobogganing is a winter activity. But not in Zell am See-Kaprun. Besides numerous winter toboggan runs, we also have a year-round toboggan run – the "Maisiflitzer" at the valley station of the MK Maiskogelbahn cable car in the center of Kaprun. Sitting in the toboggans, you ride up to the starting point and then, like on a roller coaster, you race back down to the valley over bridges, over waves, through banked curves, and through banked turns. You can speed down the 1,300-meter track at up to 40 km/h – and you can control your own speed. This adrenaline rush can be experienced alone or with a partner in two-seater toboggans.

Summer toboggan run at Biberg in Saalfelden
Fun for the whole family is guaranteed on the 1.6 km long summer toboggan run at Biberg in Saalfelden. Simply hop in, activate the lever, and off you go! On the action-packed descent, you'll cover 345 meters of elevation, navigate 61 fun curves, and conquer 3 super jumps. Whether you're a speed demon or a leisurely rider, you can easily control your own pace with the lever.

Kids' bikes
We teach children aged 7 and up how to bike in a fun and playful way with games at our Bike-In training park. Of course, every child receives a real mountain bike license! Duration: approx. 1.5 hours. Price: €20.00. Includes mountain bike. For children aged 10 and up who want to experience real mountain biking, we offer a children's bike tour. Duration: approx. 2.5 hours. Price: €22.00. Includes mountain bike.

Ice Arena Kitzsteinhorn: Family fun in the summer snow
Thanks to the state-of-the-art cable cars of the Kitzsteinhorn, the Ice Arena is easily accessible for adventurers of all ages during the summer months.
Sledding fun and snow in summer on the glacier at 3,000 meters. With toboggans and sleds that can be borrowed free of charge on site, you can whiz down the white glacier slope and then simply let the magic carpet take you back to the start. Whether it's a snowball fight, exhilarating slides down gentle snow slopes, adventurous hikes along the secured glacier trail, or relaxing and cooling off in the sun loungers on the glacier plateau – in the Ice Arena on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, families and nature lovers can experience their summer snow fun.

While other guests swim in the crystal-clear Lake Zell in the valley, people in the Ice Arena cheer during a snowball fight, build snowmen or cool off during a relaxing break in a deck chair.

Schmidolin's baptism of fire
Who said hiking is boring? Not with Schmidolin on the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See! Tricky tasks, daring challenges, and questions await you on his journey through the forest. Schmidolin is still too small to breathe fire—can you help him? Document all your answers and tasks in the adventure passport and become Schmidolin's best friends. Schmidolin's trail is included in the cable car ticket to the Areit. 8 tips for hiking with children

Mystical Forest: A Hiking Experience for the Whole Family
Pristine nature and magnificent mountain views combined with exciting interactive stations: that's the "Mystical Forest" themed hiking trail on the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See-Kaprun. At various stations, visitors of all ages can discover mystical stories and legends and explore myths from the Pinzgau region. The highlight is the "White Stag" adventure playground.
