Starting at the mountain station of the trassXpress, the route leads over gentle pastures and through picturesque forests to the summit of Maurerkogel at 2,074 m. An unobstructed view of the surrounding mountains rewards the summit climbers before returning to Schmittenhöhe. Meeting point at 9:00 a.m. at the trassXpress valley station. The guided hike lasts 4 hours.

As soon as the sun goes down in Zell am See-Kaprun, it is far from being dark: from 14 May to 15 October 2026, the "Zeller Seezauber" awaits you every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 9.30 pm - a special kind of water, light, music and laser show. In September and October the "Zeller Seezauber" starts at 9 pm.

In 2026 you can look forward to completely new shows. Let yourself be transported to another world for about 20 minutes at the music pavilion in the Elisabethpark in Zell am See. Admission is free!

Yoga beginners and experienced yogis can relax with yoga teacher Monika Rauter every Wednesday under the gaze of the Schmitten during a one-hour yoga session.
Amidst mountain flowers and alpine meadows, the yoga mats are rolled out and the practice includes strengthening asanas and other yoga poses.

During Zell´s Summer Night Festivals on Wednesday in July and August, visitors can enjoy Italian flair, culinary delights and popular music in the pedestrian zone. From 4 June to 27 August, 2026, you can take a morning walk through the Sigmund Thun Gorge every Thursday from 8.30 am.

This is crowned with breakfast in the Klammsee Stüberl on the banks of the turquoise Klammsee. Breakfast consists of the finest local ingredients and is served on the sun terrace when the weather is good. The Sigmund Thun Gorge is still rarely visited in the morning hours; Entry is only possible upon prior registration.
Having the impressive natural spectacle all to yourself or sharing it with just a few other early risers is an unforgettable experience.
The Klammsee Stüberl has a sunny terrace and a large children's playground: it is also the starting point for further hikes or you can return to the starting point at the gorge entrance after breakfast.

Castle tour...
... walk through 600 years of eventful history

Even today you can still feel the atmosphere of times long gone when you enter the venerable Kaprun Castle. It is as if you are travelling back in time. Surrounded by centuries-old walls, you get an impression of how counts and castellans spent their everyday lives.

A real attraction for visitors today, the castle used to be proud possession and refuge for many noble families for centuries. The castle was first mentioned in documents at the end of the 13 century. However, historians assume that the construction of the castle goes back even further. Kaprun Castle was built by the Upper Bavarian noble family of the Falkensteins in the 12th century.

Until 1975, the castle had seen exciting times before it increasingly fell victim to the natural process of decay. Finally, the Burgverein Kaprun association made sure that mountains of rubble, wild growth and signs of weathering were removed. Since then, the castle has been restored to its former glory and provides a historical setting for modern events. The perfect symbiosis of past and present!

The Kids Trail Kaprun is the youth race of The North Face Grossglockner Ultra-Trail (GGUT), offering children and young runners the opportunity to experience trail running in a safe and age-appropriate environment. The event combines exercise, nature, and the excitement of competition while introducing participants to the unique atmosphere of one of the Alps' most renowned trail running events.

Two race distances are available:

Kids (Grades 1–4): 1.4 km | 14 m elevation gain

Junior (Grades 5–9): 3.8 km | 120 m elevation gain

Both races start and finish at Salzburger Platz in Kaprun. The shorter course follows paved paths, while the Junior course includes sections on natural trails and crosses a suspension bridge. Every participant receives a starter gift, a finisher's medal, official race timing with a certificate, and refreshments at the finish. All proceeds from the entry fees are donated to the Kinderwünsche Pinzgau charity initiative.

By holding the poses for longer, your body is invited to soften, release tension, and deeply relax. This nourishing session calms the nervous system, supports recovery, and restores balance. Suitable for beginners – drop-ins welcome, everyone is invited.

Experience an exciting climbing adventure between glacier, mountains, and lake! At Club Kitzsteinhorn, children make their first climbing attempts on a climbing tower with various levels of difficulty. Courage, coordination, and agility are required as they gradually build confidence in their own abilities.

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, participants learn the basics of climbing in a fun and supportive environment. Older children may even take on initial responsibility while belaying, strengthening their sense of teamwork. Most importantly, fun and shared adventure always come first!

Starting at the mountain station of the trassXpress, the route leads over gentle pastures and through picturesque forests to the summit of Maurerkogel at 2,074 m. An unobstructed view of the surrounding mountains rewards the summit climbers before returning to Schmittenhöhe. Meeting point at 9:00 a.m. at the trassXpress valley station. The guided hike lasts 4 hours.

... walk through 600 years of eventful history

Even today you can still feel the atmosphere of times long gone when you enter the venerable Kaprun Castle. It is as if you are travelling back in time. Surrounded by centuries-old walls, you get an impression of how counts and castellans spent their everyday lives.

A real attraction for visitors today, the castle used to be proud possession and refuge for many noble families for centuries. The castle was first mentioned in documents at the end of the 13 century. However, historians assume that the construction of the castle goes back even further. Kaprun Castle was built by the Upper Bavarian noble family of the Falkensteins in the 12th century.

Until 1975, the castle had seen exciting times before it increasingly fell victim to the natural process of decay. Finally, the Burgverein Kaprun association made sure that mountains of rubble, wild growth and signs of weathering were removed. Since then, the castle has been restored to its former glory and provides a historical setting for modern events. The perfect symbiosis of past and present!

"Chamber music at festival level" - this is the simple motto with which the Zell Summer Concerts have been turning the mountain town into a small festival city in July and August for almost 60 years. The best ensembles on the chamber music scene delight audiences in this concert series with the most beautiful works, mainly from the classical and romantic periods.

Once again, the summer concerts take place every Monday from 20 July to 26 August at the Ferry Porsche Congress Center in Zell am See.

This is crowned with breakfast in the Klammsee Stüberl on the banks of the turquoise Klammsee. Breakfast consists of the finest local ingredients and is served on the sun terrace when the weather is good. The Sigmund Thun Gorge is still rarely visited in the morning hours; Entry is only possible upon prior registration.
Having the impressive natural spectacle all to yourself or sharing it with just a few other early risers is an unforgettable experience.
The Klammsee Stüberl has a sunny terrace and a large children's playground: it is also the starting point for further hikes or you can return to the starting point at the gorge entrance after breakfast.

Experience an exciting climbing adventure between glacier, mountains, and lake! At Club Kitzsteinhorn, children make their first climbing attempts on a climbing tower with various levels of difficulty. Courage, coordination, and agility are required as they gradually build confidence in their own abilities.

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, participants learn the basics of climbing in a fun and supportive environment. Older children may even take on initial responsibility while belaying, strengthening their sense of teamwork. Most importantly, fun and shared adventure always come first!

The Lake Festivals Zell - the events to support the sports youth. It belongs to the region like the lake Zell itself: Every year a lot of guests from all over the world visit the two lake festivals. Join the event with music, fireworks and a wonderful atmosphere. It‘s worth to see the lake festival at the shore esplanade. A wide framework programme fascinates young and old. The firework change the region into a coloured landscape.

The Bürgermusik provides live entertainment with traditional brass band music and well known melodies. You start your Seefest day with music and a lively atmosphere in the center of Zell am See. A special highlight is the arrival of the Stiegl horse carriage on the town square. The carriage stays on site until 2 pm. During this time you can take part in the Stiegl beer stein holding challenge. You join the challenge, show your strength and win great prizes with some effort. In September and October, the Zeller Seezauber starts already at 9 pm.

Starting at the mountain station of the trassXpress, the route leads over gentle pastures and through picturesque forests to the summit of Maurerkogel at 2,074 m. An unobstructed view of the surrounding mountains rewards the summit climbers before returning to Schmittenhöhe. Meeting point at 9:00 a.m. at the trassXpress valley station. The guided hike lasts 4 hours.

Castle tour...
... walk through 600 years of eventful history

Even today you can still feel the atmosphere of times long gone when you enter the venerable Kaprun Castle. It is as if you are travelling back in time. Surrounded by centuries-old walls, you get an impression of how counts and castellans spent their everyday lives.

A real attraction for visitors today, the castle used to be proud possession and refuge for many noble families for centuries. The castle was first mentioned in documents at the end of the 13 century. However, historians assume that the construction of the castle goes back even further. Kaprun Castle was built by the Upper Bavarian noble family of the Falkensteins in the 12th century.

Until 1975, the castle had seen exciting times before it increasingly fell victim to the natural process of decay. Finally, the Burgverein Kaprun association made sure that mountains of rubble, wild growth and signs of weathering were removed. Since then, the castle has been restored to its former glory and provides a historical setting for modern events. The perfect symbiosis of past and present!

The Sigmund Thun Gorge is still rarely visited in the morning hours; Entry is only possible upon prior registration.
Having the impressive natural spectacle all to yourself or sharing it with just a few other early risers is an unforgettable experience.
The Klammsee Stüberl has a sunny terrace and a large children's playground: it is also the starting point for further hikes or you can return to the starting point at the gorge entrance after breakfast.

Experience an exciting climbing adventure between glacier, mountains, and lake! At Club Kitzsteinhorn, children make their first climbing attempts on a climbing tower with various levels of difficulty. Courage, coordination, and agility are required as they gradually build confidence in their own abilities.

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, participants learn the basics of climbing in a fun and supportive environment. Older children may even take on initial responsibility while belaying, strengthening their sense of teamwork. Most importantly, fun and shared adventure always come first!

Even today you can still feel the atmosphere of times long gone when you enter the venerable Kaprun Castle. It is as if you are travelling back in time. Surrounded by centuries-old walls, you get an impression of how counts and castellans spent their everyday lives.

A real attraction for visitors today, the castle used to be proud possession and refuge for many noble families for centuries. The castle was first mentioned in documents at the end of the 13 century. However, historians assume that the construction of the castle goes back even further. Kaprun Castle was built by the Upper Bavarian noble family of the Falkensteins in the 12th century.

Until 1975, the castle had seen exciting times before it increasingly fell victim to the natural process of decay. Finally, the Burgverein Kaprun association made sure that mountains of rubble, wild growth and signs of weathering were removed. Since then, the castle has been restored to its former glory and provides a historical setting for modern events. The perfect symbiosis of past and present!

As soon as the sun sets in Zell am See-Kaprun, it is not dark yet: From 14 May to 15 October, 2026, you can expect the “Zeller Seezauber” - a water, light, music, and laser show of a special kind every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 9.30 pm. In September and October, the Zeller Seezauber starts already at 9 pm.

Starting at the mountain station of the trassXpress, the route leads over gentle pastures and through picturesque forests to the summit of Maurerkogel at 2,074 m. An unobstructed view of the surrounding mountains rewards the summit climbers before returning to Schmittenhöhe. Meeting point at 9:00 a.m. at the trassXpress valley station. The guided hike lasts 4 hours.

The Sigmund Thun Gorge is still rarely visited in the morning hours; Entry is only possible upon prior registration.
Having the impressive natural spectacle all to yourself or sharing it with just a few other early risers is an unforgettable experience.
The Klammsee Stüberl has a sunny terrace and a large children's playground: it is also the starting point for further hikes or you can return to the starting point at the gorge entrance after breakfast.

At Club Kitzsteinhorn, children make their first climbing attempts on a climbing tower with various levels of difficulty. Courage, coordination, and agility are required as they gradually build confidence in their own abilities.

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, participants learn the basics of climbing in a fun and supportive environment. Older children may even take on initial responsibility while belaying, strengthening their sense of teamwork. Most importantly, fun and shared adventure always come first!

Even today you can still feel the atmosphere of times long gone when you enter the venerable Kaprun Castle. It is as if you are travelling back in time. Surrounded by centuries-old walls, you get an impression of how counts and castellans spent their everyday lives.

A real attraction for visitors today, the castle used to be proud possession and refuge for many noble families for centuries. The castle was first mentioned in documents at the end of the 13 century. However, historians assume that the construction of the castle goes back even further. Kaprun Castle was built by the Upper Bavarian noble family of the Falkensteins in the 12th century.

Until 1975, the castle had seen exciting times before it increasingly fell victim to the natural process of decay. Finally, the Burgverein Kaprun association made sure that mountains of rubble, wild growth and signs of weathering were removed. Since then, the castle has been restored to its former glory and provides a historical setting for modern events. The perfect symbiosis of past and present!

As soon as the sun sets in Zell am See-Kaprun, it is not dark yet: From 14 May to 15 October, 2026, you can expect the “Zeller Seezauber” - a water, light, music, and laser show of a special kind every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 9.30 pm. In September and October, the Zeller Seezauber starts already at 9 pm.

Starting at the mountain station of the trassXpress, the route leads over gentle pastures and through picturesque forests to the summit of Maurerkogel at 2,074 m. An unobstructed view of the surrounding mountains rewards the summit climbers before returning to Schmittenhöhe. Meeting point at 9:00 a.m. at the trassXpress valley station. The guided hike lasts 4 hours.

"Chamber music at festival level" - this is the simple motto with which the Zell Summer Concerts have been turning the mountain town into a small festival city in July and August for almost 60 years. The best ensembles on the chamber music scene delight audiences in this concert series with the most beautiful works, mainly from the classical and romantic periods.

Once again, the summer concerts take place every Monday from 20. July to 24. August at the Ferry Porsche Congress Center in Zell am See.

Breakfast consists of the finest local ingredients and is served on the sun terrace when the weather is good. The Sigmund Thun Gorge is still rarely visited in the morning hours; Entry is only possible upon prior registration.
Having the impressive natural spectacle all to yourself or sharing it with just a few other early risers is an unforgettable experience.
The Klammsee Stüberl has a sunny terrace and a large children's playground: it is also the starting point for further hikes or you can return to the starting point at the gorge entrance after breakfast.

At Club Kitzsteinhorn, children make their first climbing attempts on a climbing tower with various levels of difficulty. Courage, coordination, and agility are required as they gradually build confidence in their own abilities.

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, participants learn the basics of climbing in a fun and supportive environment. Older children may even take on initial responsibility while belaying, strengthening their sense of teamwork. Most importantly, fun and shared adventure always come first!

... walk through 600 years of eventful history

Even today you can still feel the atmosphere of times long gone when you enter the venerable Kaprun Castle. It is as if you are travelling back in time. Surrounded by centuries-old walls, you get an impression of how counts and castellans spent their everyday lives.

A real attraction for visitors today, the castle used to be proud possession and refuge for many noble families for centuries. The castle was first mentioned in documents at the end of the 13 century. However, historians assume that the construction of the castle goes back even further. Kaprun Castle was built by the Upper Bavarian noble family of the Falkensteins in the 12th century.

Until 1975, the castle had seen exciting times before it increasingly fell victim to the natural process of decay. Finally, the Burgverein Kaprun association made sure that mountains of rubble, wild growth and signs of weathering were removed. Since then, the castle has been restored to its former glory and provides a historical setting for modern events. The perfect symbiosis of past and present!

Starting at the mountain station of the trassXpress, the route leads over gentle pastures and through picturesque forests to the summit of Maurerkogel at 2,074 m. An unobstructed view of the surrounding mountains rewards the summit climbers before returning to Schmittenhöhe. Meeting point at 9:00 a.m. at the trassXpress valley station. The guided hike lasts 4 hours.

"Chamber music at festival level" - this is the simple motto with which the Zell Summer Concerts have been turning the mountain town into a small festival city in July and August for almost 60 years. The best ensembles on the chamber music scene delight audiences in this concert series with the most beautiful works, mainly from the classical and romantic periods.

This is crowned with breakfast in the Klammsee Stüberl on the banks of the turquoise Klammsee. Breakfast consists of the finest local ingredients and is served on the sun terrace when the weather is good. The Sigmund Thun Gorge is still rarely visited in the morning hours; Entry is only possible upon prior registration.
Having the impressive natural spectacle all to yourself or sharing it with just a few other early risers is an unforgettable experience.
The Klammsee Stüberl has a sunny terrace and a large children's playground: it is also the starting point for further hikes or you can return to the starting point at the gorge entrance after breakfast.

... walk through 600 years of eventful history

Even today you can still feel the atmosphere of times long gone when you enter the venerable Kaprun Castle. It is as if you are travelling back in time. Surrounded by centuries-old walls, you get an impression of how counts and castellans spent their everyday lives.

A real attraction for visitors today, the castle used to be proud possession and refuge for many noble families for centuries. The castle was first mentioned in documents at the end of the 13 century. However, historians assume that the construction of the castle goes back even further. Kaprun Castle was built by the Upper Bavarian noble family of the Falkensteins in the 12th century.

Until 1975, the castle had seen exciting times before it increasingly fell victim to the natural process of decay. Finally, the Burgverein Kaprun association made sure that mountains of rubble, wild growth and signs of weathering were removed. Since then, the castle has been restored to its former glory and provides a historical setting for modern events. The perfect symbiosis of past and present!

Embark on a mystical journey into the heart of the Kitzsteinhorn

On the TOP OF SALZBURG panorama platform, you meet your guide – a real ranger from the Hohe Tauern National Park. Together, you head into the mountain. With every step through the mystical, 360-m-long National Park Gallery info tunnel, you feel the glacier’s heartbeat. At six stations, the ranger gives fascinating insights into the history, technology, natural treasures, flora and fauna of the Kitzsteinhorn and the Hohe Tauern National Park. At the end of the tunnel, a breathtaking highlight awaits you: The National Park Gallery panorama platform gives a spectacular view into the untouched mountain world of the National Park. To the south, you can even see the Grossglockner – Austria’s highest mountain.

Top tip › Get in the mood for the tour and visit Austria’s highest-situated movie theater Cinema 3000: The film “Kitzsteinhorn – THE NATURE” presents Kitzsteinhorn’s unique adventure, plant and animal world with stunning footage. The cinema is located on the ground floor of the summit station, the movie is showing all day.

Height kick for young and old.

Experience an exciting climbing adventure between glacier, mountains, and lake! At Club Kitzsteinhorn, children make their first climbing attempts on a climbing tower with various levels of difficulty. Courage, coordination, and agility are required as they gradually build confidence in their own abilities.

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, participants learn the basics of climbing in a fun and supportive environment. Older children may even take on initial responsibility while belaying, strengthening their sense of teamwork. Most importantly, fun and shared adventure always come first!

Every four weeks, we gather at Seecamp with a view of the lake, practice variations of the Moon Salutation, and turn inward through meditation.

What is Full Moon Flow?
A yoga class that always takes place on the full moon. Each session is dedicated to the unique energy of the respective moon phase.

In August 2026, the IRONMAN weekend in Zell am See-Kaprun will take place again. Kids between the ages of 6 and 15 are able to take part in the aquathlon, a combination of swim and run.

Our youngest athletes will taking on an Aquathlon with either a 50 m or 100 m swim, before they'll make their way through the old town and run the last few meters on the IRONMAN 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun finish line.

As soon as the sun sets in Zell am See-Kaprun, it is not dark yet: From 14 May to 15 October, 2026, you can expect the “Zeller Seezauber” - a water, light, music, and laser show of a special kind every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 9.30 pm. In September and October, the Zeller Seezauber starts already at 9 pm.

In 2026, completely new shows are also waiting for you.
Let yourself be taken to another world for about 20 minutes at the Music Pavilion in Elisabeth Park in Zell am See. Admission is free!

The show takes place in almost all weather conditions. Strong winds or thunderstorms prevent a performance, as the high water fountains are blown far away - rain is not a problem. A cancellation will be announced on-site if necessary.

In addition to the evening shows, daily daytime shows with music and water take place starting 14 May every full hour between 1 pm and 6 pm.

The neighboring Maurerkogel is the destination of this guided hike.
Starting at the mountain station of the trassXpress, the route leads over gentle pastures and through picturesque forests to the summit of Maurerkogel at 2,074 m. An unobstructed view of the surrounding mountains rewards the summit climbers before returning to Schmittenhöhe. Meeting point at 9:00 a.m. at the trassXpress valley station. The guided hike lasts 4 hours.
