It's a very child-friendly area, and the many trees and restaurants make it a cozy place. Your ski pass gives you access to the entire region, including the glaciers and the ski buses between Kaprun and Zell am See. There are also plenty of opportunities for cross-country skiers.
Ski area altitude: 2000 meters.
Skiing with children
This ski resort is ideal for children. At the adventure mountain in Piesendorf/Walchen, children can learn to ski to their heart's content in a safe and welcoming environment. There is a drag lift and two practice lifts. Children up to 6 years old can use the lifts for free, and ski lessons are also affordable. www.erlebnisberg.at
Children who can't yet ski can have a wonderful time playing in the snow with mom or dad, sledding, or jumping on the trampoline. On the edge of the village of Kaprun is the ski lift to the family-friendly slope, the Maiskogel. Here, children can learn to ski on blue runs, while parents also have the opportunity to enjoy more challenging slopes.
