We are ...

Do you ever watch programs such as “Leaving to Australia” or something similar? We did, more and more the last few years. And more and more we got the feeling that it would be a challenge for us too. Until recent Marco was a fruit grower in Western Friesland and Susan used to work as a dialysis nurse in a hospital in Hoorn. We didn’t leave because we weren’t satisfied about Holland or our jobs. We left because we were ready for a challenge in a beautiful country.

The next question is, what do you want to do in a foreign country? It wasn’t hard to answer this question for us for we both wanted to work with tourists. Our first challenge is renting the combination of rooms and apartments and taking care of breakfast. In the future we plan to extend and decorate the house. Before we got settled in Austria we visited and/or explored some other countries such as Sweden, France and Portugal.

The past year we fell in love with Austria. We already knew it from our skiing holidays here in the Europe Sportregion and in other skiing areas of Austria. We loved the guarantee of snow about this area and the big difference between the several slopes.Because we don´t like to live in the middle of hotels and guest houses we chose to settle down in the charming little village Piesendorf. We visited this village in the spring and the summer and for us it felt like the perfect place to welcome our guests and ourselves. We are living in our apartment house since the start of December 2008 and we are enjoying it very much. We welcomed our first guests and they were very satisfied. Our house is located just outside the village and everything is within walking distance. The village has a very central location, in between Kaprun and Zell am See. There are several restaurants, a swimming pool and a tennis court located near by. In the winter the guests can chose what skiing area to take the ski bus to. This ski bus is free of charge. You can also have a lot of fun on the Erlebnisberg in the village itself, sliding of the mountain on the weirdest objects. In and around Piesendorf all kinds of things are organized during the summer such as a weekly performance of the youth orchestra of Piesendorf/Niedernsill in the party tent. It is also very worthwhile to hop on the little train and visit Zell am See. The train stop is located within walking distance. Listing all sights worth visiting here would turn this story into a never- ending one. We have got two sons of 4 and 7 years old and they enjoy playing in the snow, in our garden and in beautiful nature every day.

We hope to be able to welcome you as a guest and to see you leave with a good and satisfied feeling.

See you in Piesendorf.

Best regards,

Marco, Susan, Gian, Leon & Milan
