Glacier Delights

Every September, the Zell am See-Kaprun region celebrates Alpine Delights – and Kaprun’s home mountains are right at the heart of it, offering guests plenty of culinary experiences to discover. Highlights include the Picnic at Maiskogel on the family mountain in Kaprun and the Summit Breakfast at Salzburg’s most elevated restaurant on the Kitzsteinhorn. At the Gipfel Restaurant 3,029 meters above sea level and the Alpincenter Restaurant at 2,450 meters, guests can look forward not only to spectacular views, but also to special dishes created exclusively for the Alpine Delight Weeks.
Guided tour of the Mooser dam

Experience the myth of Kaprun and take a unique look behind the scenes of hydropower. Together with a guide, you will discover the impressive mountain world around the Mooserboden reservoir and the interior of the 107 metre high Mooser dam. During the one-hour tour, you will learn exciting details about the history, construction and technology of Austria's most important power plant.
Tip: Visit the free ‘Erlebniswelt Strom’ exhibition right at the end of the tour. With original exhibits, documents and photographs, this is the ideal complement to the guided tour.

17. Austrian Ice Hockey Classic Tournament

The traditional tournament of the Zeller Oldies is both a sporting and social highlight, now taking place for the 18th time in its biennial rhythm. Alongside the athletic competition, the social aspect remains the most important component of the event. Since 1988, thousands of ice hockey enthusiasts have enjoyed their stay in the heart of Europe.
The tournament will be held from Tuesday, 30 September to Saturday, 4 October 2025. It kicks off on Tuesday at 12:00 noon and concludes with the award ceremony during the Hockey Night on Saturday.

Magic Lake Show "Best of Disco"

As soon as the sun goes down in Zell am See-Kaprun, it is far from being dark: from 15 May to 14 October, 2025, the "Zeller Seezauber" awaits you every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 9.30 pm - a special kind of water, light, music and laser show. In September and October the "Zeller Seezauber" starts at 9:00 pm. In 2025 you can look forward to completely new shows. Let yourself be transported to another world for about 20 minutes at the music pavilion in the Elisabethpark in Zell am See. Admission is free!
Enjoy 20 minutes of this magical world from the music pavilion in the Elisabeth Park, every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

The show takes place in almost any weather. Strong winds or thunderstorms prevent a performance, as the high water fountains are blown far away - rain is no problem. If necessary, the show will be cancelled on the spot. In addition to the evening shows, there will be daytime shows with music and water every hour on the hour from 1 pm to 6 pm starting 15 May.
