17. Austrian Ice Hockey Classic Tournament

The traditional tournament of the Zeller Oldies is both a sporting and social highlight, now taking place for the 18th time in its biennial rhythm. Alongside the athletic competition, the social aspect remains the most important component of the event. Since 1988, thousands of ice hockey enthusiasts have enjoyed their stay in the heart of Europe.
The tournament will be held from Tuesday, 30 September to Saturday, 4 October 2025. It kicks off on Tuesday at 12:00 noon and concludes with the award ceremony during the Hockey Night on Saturday.
Market Zell am See

On Fridays, from 8 am to 1 pm, you will be offered a large selection of culinary delicacies and much more at a number of market stalls that will continue to grow until the summer. Come to Zell's town square, enjoy the market atmosphere and buy fresh, local products. The town market will also take place in 2025 every Friday from 21 March to 19 December from 8 am to 1 pm In September there will always be live music!
Guided tour of the Mooser dam

Experience the myth of Kaprun and take a unique look behind the scenes of hydropower. Together with a guide, you will discover the impressive mountain world around the Mooserboden reservoir and the interior of the 107 metre high Mooser dam. During the one-hour tour, you will learn exciting details about the history, construction and technology of Austria's most important power plant.
Tip: Visit the free ‘Erlebniswelt Strom’ exhibition right at the end of the tour. With original exhibits, documents and photographs, this is the ideal complement to the guided tour.

- Duration: approx. 1 hour

Baking bread at Kaprun Kirchbichl

Every Friday, master baker Günther Katschner, bakery Katschern bred&more, begins early in the morning with the traditional preparations for baking bread at Kaprun Kirchbichl, for this the old wooden bread oven from the early 19th century is heated up.
Starting from 10 o’clock is it then so far, the tasty kinds of bread, Tauernroggenbrot or root bread and sweet Gebbäck, like Milchbrotzopf, Buchteln and delicious nut and poppy seed strudel stand ready for the sales, with over 400 years old Steinerbauernhaus, in which also the Kaprun Musuem is resident.
Günther Katschner is a master baker in the truest sense with “loaf and soul”. With his team of over 20 employees, he oversees several locations and also operates a delivery service. He skilfully combines the tried and tested with new ideas and can thus count a colorful and rich variety of breads and pastries as well as pastries and cakes among his assortment.

Steam Train Special

On this day, both of our steam locomotives will be in operation, a unique experience in Pinzgau!
Morning:
- 1st steam train at 9.20 am from Zell am See with JZ 73-019 and four-axle vintage carriage
- 2nd steam train at 10.20 am from Zell am See with Mh.3 and two-axle vintage carriage
Afternoon:
Steam train at 2.20 pm from Zell am See with pilot locomotive JZ 73-019 and lead locomotive Mh.3 with two-axle vintage carriage
Steam train does not stop at all stations – please check the timetable poster!
Two steam trains cross at 10.58 am at Niedernsill station.
Nostalgia ticket Zell am See – Mittersill and return is valid as a day ticket on all steam trains.
